Teddy's Causes
Teddy has been active with many charities – donating concert proceeds, visiting hospitals and helping to raise general awareness for various different causes. Teddy has been personally touched by many wonderful charities, and has had the chance to work with many organizations. Below are some of the causes Teddy holds close to his heart.
-
Red Cross Tsunami Program
Through a coordinated effort, Red Cross and Red Crescent societies from some 40 countries around the globe offered resources and expertise in various specialized areas. The Federation matched the core expertise of these societies with the needs of the survivors to get help to those made vulnerable by this disaster. The American Red Cross was called upon to deploy experts in water and sanitation, logistics and rapid relief distribution. In addition to deploying personnel, the American Red Cross immediately began sending emergency relief supplies. Teddy played a benefit concert in his hometown, in which ticket proceeds, and raffle and auction items went to aid in the relief.

Habitat for Humanity - New Orleans
Our goal is to build houses in partnership with sponsors, volunteers, communities, and homeowner families, whereby families are empowered to transform their own lives. To eliminate poverty housing in the New Orleans area while serving as a catalyst to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller, Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people from all faiths and walks of life to work together in partnership, building houses with families in need . New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity founded in 1983, is part of a growing Habitat family. NOAHH's work over the years has resulted in over one hundred homes constructed in the New Orleans Metro area. NOAHH's work will be be critical in the wake of hurricane Katrina's destruction. Teddy personally climbed on a roof to nail in panels, and helped build a house in New Orleans before playing a sold out show at the House Of Blues that night.

Autism Speaks
At Autism Speaks, our goal is to change the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders. One in 166 children will be born with autism. Unfortunately, the way this disorder is spreading, if you don't know someone with autism, you will soon.
We are dedicated to funding global biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and cure for autism; to raising public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society; and to bringing hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder. We are committed to raising the funds necessary to support these goals.
Autism Speaks aims to bring the autism community together as one strong voice to urge the government and private sector to listen to our concerns and take action to address this urgent global health crisis. It is our firm belief that, working together, we will find the missing pieces of the puzzle. Teddy also supports the world renown McCarton Center, which is one of the nation's leading schools for children with developmental disorders.
-

Rock for Darfur
The United Nations calls Darfur "the world's greatest humanitarian crisis." Ongoing violence has wracked the western region of Sudan since 203. Conflicts between tribal militias, sanctioned by the Sudanese regime, have left hundreds of thousands dead and 2.5 million displaced from their homes. The violence has reduced villages to ashes, crops to barren fields. THe promise of an African Union-UN peacekeeping force remains just that - a promise. As the world continues to debate protection and peacemaking, we must now act to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches the people of Darfur before it's too late.
MySpace bands are coming together to help the people of Darfur, and to send a strong message to the world that this crisis must end now. Show your support and go to a ROCK FOR DARFUR show on November 10. A portion of your ticket purchase will go direction to the Save Darfur Coalition, and to Oxfam's humanitarian work in Darfur.
